Hi, I’m Jeanette and I am the owner and designer of Prairie Dreams Décor. I’m so glad you found this website and my blog!
I am a widow, a mother to four grown children and a grandmother to 13! Making and selling wreaths, swags, and arrangements has always been something I wanted to do. I never had the nerve to pursue this dream until 2017, when I founded a company called, “Sweet Dreams”. I set up my booth at several different craft fairs and really enjoyed myself. I also sold locally and to family and friends. Oh, how I appreciate all their support over the years! I absolutely love being creative and sharing my creations with everyone. It gives me great satisfaction knowing that someone trusts me enough to purchase one of my creations.
However, it didn’t take long to realize that I would need to change the name of my company to accommodate my ideas for expansion. “Sweet Dreams” is a common company name, and I needed one that was more unique, descriptive, and not already claimed.
“Prairie Dreams Décor” was born and I started expanding my business to include Etsy sales. In short order, I discovered how much I enjoy teaching my craft, so I started doing Facebook Lives and posting to YouTube. I love interacting with familiar friends, Facebook friends, customers, and anyone who is interested in floral design and crafting.
I’ve always enjoyed writing for pleasure, although I never shared my interest with anyone but my youngest son – and that was several years ago! With my blog posts, I hope to entertain, teach, share my passion for home décor designs and interact with other small business owners. I promise this blog will not be “all about me”, “all the time”, although I will be introducing myself in my first few posts. I also want to bring you product reviews, discuss books and authors, and introduce you to interesting people who live here on the prairie.
